We went to a jazz performance by the famous ‘Perico Sambeat Flamenco Quintet’. They are considered one of the great Spanish jazz musicians. Another young famous Spanish flamenco jazz saxophonist, Antonio Lizana also performed as invited guest. People clapped their hands as they do in flamenco music. They are indeed very good musicians. Very happy to hv discovered this place.
Lately I had been twice at this place after everyone in this island speak highly about it. My experience as been the worst place ever. For perspective I been related to the music industry for 40 years and had attended events all sizes and places from the original CBGBs in NYC to Brixton Academy and Kakerlake bar in Hamburg and other 1000s venues. But this place it’s feels, looks and sound like a low budget student bar. Drinks are expensive (compared to the island prices) but what I founded no respectful is to have an event schedule to “door at 20:30 start at 21” but starting at at nearly 23:00 because they where having issues with the sound but then the sound was the worst ever, even my home sound system sound better and louder! I thoroughly feel sorry for the musicians that play that night as I can see their where great musicians but the sound was so bad that really make me angry at how bad was! Then lighting was non existing and all in “auto” mode so nothing did followed the music.
This is a music venue the ONLY one job is to make good sound! 🤦🏻♂️
Very disappointed
Such a nice team working there and so friendly that makes you feel home☺️✨🙌 I had nice open mic sessions there in March and remember the words they told me when I again come to Gran Canaria with the concert that Fabrica La isleta is “Mi Casa es Tu casa” 😍🥰✨ sooo sweet 😍
Thank you very much and I will come for sure to your home with my new music😘💖
Kind regards,
Laura
Although is an ok space in terms of sound quality and lighting, the bars are small and very slow, no aircon inside but what I thought is not ok is that I went to see the band of one of my friends kids (not even on their teens) but everyone including the parents had to pay to see their own kids play, to me this is a kind of modern slavery, ultimately they where working (with no payment) but we all pay and the venue make money for the gig! And that is NO OK! . I’m fully pro support band and I will always pay to see my friends events or pay for art, but is not ok parents have to pay to see their own kids work for this venue. Also this place gets tons of grants from the national and local government and even some funds from the EU. The the least could do it to let parents free. I had attended band rehearsal that make better sound than this place so did worth only to pay to see my friends not the place.
It is a great place to see original artist to perform in public. They just need more seats for the audience they atract.
An institution in Canary Islands, you can find really top bands, and even when they are relatively unknown the level is always amazing. Jam sessions on wednesdays, thursdays and sundays are a lot of fun. I always recommend it to visitors. Only downside: you can only take a bus to go there, after 22 (when the best things happen) you will need to take a taxi back, but it s not very expensive.
The acoustic wasn't so good inside but i really liked the djs that played outside. All in all a nice place.
Drink a beer and enjoy the music. Good place for after work.
